UAE Traffic Congestion

The following video was created while working on a sponsored problem from the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Opportunity. The project was done for the Innov8x course at the Colorado School of Mines, which has sponsored problems from FEMA, UAE, and DOD. We were tasked with proposing unique and novel solutions to traffic congestion in the UAE. I led the team and worked with the Ministry of Energy and Ministry of Transportation officials from Sharjah, Dubai, and Ajman. During the course, I built a quick tool in order to model communication timelines and provide data on how their current communication protocols affect their processes.

We found that the majority of their problems related to solving traffic congestion were related to communication guidelines and that these processes were the largest bottleneck surrounding efforts to reduce traffic congestion. After disclosing our findings, we were told that several committees funded by various ministries had come to similar conclusions. The video below was scripted and edited by me.
